01.05.2004 Upstream Partners Inc. (UPI) is pleased to announce completion of version 2.1 of their Upstream Content Management System (UCMS).  Version 2.1 introduces several new features to Upstream's popular content management system.  The v.2.1 UCMS retains full functionality in both Apple and Windows environments, allowing anyone with a connection to the Internet and the ability to use a word processor to manage their entire site.  Version 2.1 features include:

  • Easy to Use Interface
Our easy to use interface allows even the most novice user to create, edit, delete, and publish rich content in minutes. If you can use a word processor you can be a webmaster in no time flat!

  • Template Driven HTML Generator
The HTML generator produces a consistent look and feel throughout the entire site regardless of the sites content or the authors ability.  With a quick change to a template, you can update hundreds, or thousands, of pages all at the same time.

  • Multi-tiered Security
Through the use of an integrated security system, administrators can explicitly enable features and tools for specific users, or groups of users.

  • Task Manager
The task manager allows for tasks to be quickly created and assigned to specific users or groups thus creating a virtual paper trail of who did what, when and why.  The entire task management system exists within the UCMS and provides notification to external e-mail accounts automatically.

  • Rich Text Editing
The rich text editor (RTE) allows for rich content creation right in your web browser. Even the most novice user can now create professional websites without knowing any Internet programming languages.

  • Comprehensive Administration Tools
The UCMS administrator toolbox gives you complete control over virtually all facets of your site in one convenient location. From creating websites to adding users, the toolbox has everything a site administrator needs.

  • Site Publishing
With a single click you can publish your entire website in a matter of seconds, not hours or days.

  • Precision Publishing
Precision publishing allows for the publishing of multiple or individual pieces of web content within your site. Our publishing engine is so powerful that the site administrator can restrict its function based on the user, the type of content, the section of the site, or the site itself.

  • Content Store
The content store allows for all external content to be centrally located and available based on user, group or site permission. Additional files and documents are effortlessly uploaded and stored in a single location for easy access and quick distribution.

  • Cross Platform Browser Compatibility
The UCMS can be run on virtually any Internet enabled computer. The UCMS does not care if you are using an Apple operating system (OS), Linux OS, or Windows OS. Each platform allows you full and complete access to every function available.

10.15.2003 Upstream Partners Inc. (UPI) is pleased to announce the launch of the newly redesigned, Upstream Content Management System driven, Hackensaw Boys site (http://www.hackensawboys.com). The Hackensaw Boys are an eight piece bluegrass band from Charlottesville, Virginia that has been touring the country with their own brand of high-energy mountain music. Recently the Hackensaw Boys came off the Unlimited Sunshine Tour, which gave them the opportunity to play in front of large and diverse audiences. The eclectic tour also included Cake, Modest Mouse, The Flaming Lips, De La Soul, and Kinky.

When the band signed on for the Unlimited Sunshine Tour it was clear that they had turned a professional corner and their web site needed to reflect that change. UPI was charged with creating a professional site that still retained the bands grass roots appeal. The site had to be updated regularly with journal entries from the road, tour updates, merchandise offerings and the like. UPI provided a site with all those characteristics and a few more.

Mark S. Hahn, the band’s manager says, “Upstream created the concept and the site without us having to lift a finger. They gave up choices rather than asking us to contribute artwork, which was a great considering how busy we were setting everything up for this past summers tours. We told them what we wanted and they gave it to us. It couldn’t have been any easier.”
